Re: su to nis user

Your english is a little confusing. If you're asking "is it possible to prevent root from using su to change users?" then the answer is an emphatic "no". There is no way to prevent root from using su, except perhaps by removing it altogether from the system. NIS will not override local settings. More accurately: if NIS does override local settings, root can always do something to fix it.

No it is not. Root has the privilege to do su to any one whether its NIS user or not.

Re: su to nis user

Hi,

and:
For root it doesn't make any difference if the password is blank or not or the user is deaktivated!

The root user can do anything.
To my knowledge it is not possible.

Re: su to nis user

Hi Honor,
if i don't remember badly,
ROOT has the privilege to execute su command on its NIS user or not, without digit password.
Regards.
