sudo on 10.2 system
su: /usr/local/bin/sudo: Execute permission denied.
The permission are as follows on the sudo files.
# ll /usr/local/bin/sudo
---S--x--x 1 root root 364792 Jun 22 2001 /usr/local/bin/sudo
# ll /usr/local/etc/visudo
---x--x--x 1 root root 214608 Jun 22 2001 /usr/local/etc/visudo
# ll /etc/sudoers
-r--r----- 1 root root 767 Jun 22 2001 /etc/sudoers
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I change the permissions on the /usr/local/bin/sudo from 4011 to 4111 and I still get the error message when I try to execure a command using sudo.

If this is a copy from your HPUX 11 system and
you are trying to run it a 10.20 system it could be that the binaries are not compatiable. Suggest you download one from the porting centre that has been compiled under 10.20.

The only thing copied was the /etc/sudoers file, I used the sight that you suggested to get a copy of sudo and using swinstall installed the depot copy from the hp public domain web sight.

I agree with Michael that you will want to take a look at the ported version with the link provided by him. Also make sure that root had a UID of 0 and that /etc/group root is the only use in the 0 entry. Other then that everything looks good as far as ownership and permission. I use sudo soley in my environment so I've run into just about anything you can think with the product.
