Support For HPUX 10.00 or 10.02

I have a H70 HP9000 running 10.02 operating system. Someone told me that HP is no longer
supporting this version. If this is true
is it very difficult to upgrade to 11.0

Can't answer for sure about support issue.

But I can tell you this...upgrade from 10.02 to 11.0 would involve more than one upgrade. You must go to 10.1 then you can go up from there.
However, I'd recommend doing a cold install to 11.0. You'd want to set up your plan to move data and like and reset everything back up...But the cold install would probably be easier than having to do 2 upgrades.

Just a suggestion,

Re: Support For HPUX 10.00 or 10.02

Tim ,
Last october, just for fun I did a new install of a E35 from HPUX9.04 to HPUX11, I suffered a bit with the lancard, it was nothing like my attempt to upgrade a E55 from HPUX10.01 to HPUX10.20 a few months before that.
So go ahead with a new install, and no its not that difficult, just be sure you have everything you need before to start...

Best regards

Tim,

imho I'd stick with 10.20 on a H70 (cold inst'ed)-
unless there is a good reason to go to 11.0
(ie you need one of the new features that come with it).

well, may sound a bit rude, but I tend to compare this to install of W2000 on a 486box- it'll be rather slow.
