Support Media?

I want to load the System diagnostics and predictive support, but I don't think I have the CD. Is there a seperate Support media CD that contains it? I'm looking on my applications CDs but I'm not sure it's there.
If you can't face the facts, change them!

Re: Support Media?

There is a HP CD titled:
HP-UX Support Plus Diagnostics and Tested Patch Bundles.

If you do not have a copy and you are current with your support, HP will usually send you a copy in 7-10 days after requested.

Re: Support Media?

I have some information that may be useful.
1. If you have a new system:
type the command: cd /opt/pred/bin (there is a space after cd and before the /)
type in "los" hit enter
the file name is "psconfig"
If the file name is not there than predictive
was not preloaded on your system.
2. If your system is not new and you have software support with HP, you should have received a letter offering you "Support Plus"
The Support Plus CD's are available the same
time as the SW application releases but are a separate request and separate shipmetn. Support Plus includes the IPR diagnostics and extension SW for your predictive support.
I hope this helps.

Re: Support Media?

You can also download the diagnostics from one of HPs web sites.

Go to http://software.hp.com

From there click on 'Network and System Administration'

Scroll down to the 'Support Tools for the HP9000'

Then click on the 'Try Now' icon. This will bring up a form you will have to fill out (Name, Comp., etc.) and it will also let you select which version of the Diagnostics you want (10.20 Server or Workstation or 11.00).

The download is about 25MB and is a depot file.

To install just point swinstall the the depot file that you downloaded.

This is much easier than calling HP and waiting a week or two to receive your CDs don't you think?
