Re: Support Plus December 2005 release HPUX 11iv1

Shalom Tim,

The standard patch bundles for HP-UX 11i v1 come out in September and March, not December.

Its a bi-annual not a quarterly release. They are called Gold Packs, not quarterly patch bundles as may have been the case in the past.

Re: Support Plus December 2005 release HPUX 11iv1

Is the change on the patch bundle releases recent as of this year ? My last install of patch bundle was Dec 2004. Just curious in order to keep my sanity.

Thanks !

The change came about with the release of the 11.23 media and began from the June 2004 onwards

Re: Support Plus December 2005 release HPUX 11iv1

Hi again Tim,

I don't know when it was done Tim, but I was desperately looking for a bundle for 11i once and called HP support and they explained it to me.

Because I needed security patches, I began building depots myself based on security_patch_check and patch assessment. That met the needs I had for patches that didn't make Gold(3 star) status and security patches.

Its really not enough to do the Gold Packs. HP's support agreement requires timely installation of Security patches to maintain the contract. I've never heard them deny support because a user was behind on security patches, but always felt it was safe to keep ahead of the ball.

Hi Tim,

It is not yet come and dont think you will get a december version.. A good idea would be checking latest patches with script and go from there.
