Support Tools Manager fails to launch after update to latest (A.30.00) version

"-- Error --"
Hostname (xxx.xxx.xx.com) could not be connected due to an invalid user login name or password.

Please Refer to the UI Activity Log for more details.

Another message appears:

"--- Information ---"
Aborting all open command files.

Two things worth mentioning, this happens only undering a root UID.
Second, STM launched fine until updating to latest OnlineDiag.depot

Hi,
You probably did this already, but just in case :-) ... take a look at the faqs :
http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/diag/stm/stm_faq.htm

There is one thing in particular that looks like your problem :
http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/diag/stm/stm_faq.htm#multi

Hope this helps,

Re: Support Tools Manager fails to launch after update to latest (A.30.00) version

I wasn't able to find the answer at abovementioned site. Thanks for your help

The problem happens whether i upgrade existing STM filesets, or swremove them before installing. These are interactive GUI installs of OnlineDiag_11.00.depot

It happens on any and all 11.00 systems i have seen so far, when launching STM under a root account. The problem only appears after updating to this latest version.
