swapinfo information

Hi All,

When I run swapinfo -M on my hp-ux 10.20 system it wont show the memory usage. Please tell me what may be the reason? Please find the attached document which is the output of the commands.

Thanks to all

Re: swapinfo information

That would be because you have no pseudo-swap. If you did, your original swapinfo would look like this (note the "memory" line):

# swapinfo
Mb Mb Mb PCT START/ Mb
TYPE AVAIL USED FREE USED LIMIT RESERVE PRI NAME
dev 2048 29 2019 1% 0 - 1 /dev/vg00/lvol2
reserve - 362 -362
memory 729 497 232 68%
total 2777 888 1889 32% - 0 -

Your kernel obviously has pseudo-swap turned off.

Re: swapinfo information

try lowercase 'm'. Uppercase just shows paging.

So use, swapinfo -tm

Re: swapinfo information

Hi pete,

Is it swapme_on which you are talking about?

Thanks

Re: swapinfo information

My memory is a bit rusty with regards to 10.20 as it has been out of support for some time now. But are you sure you have pseudoswap configured? (swapmem_on 1 in the kernel)
