swcopy failed

swcopy -s silver:/ccitriad/sw/patch/pax \* @ /ccitriad/sw/patch/pax
generated the following error message, but I am root. What is wrong? --Jun

ERROR: "silver:/ccitriad/sw/patch/pax": You do not have the required
permissions to perform this operation. Check permissions
using the "swacl" command or see your system administrator for
assistance. Or, to manage applications designed and packaged
for nonprivileged mode, see the "run_as_superuser" option in
the "sd" man page.
* Source connection failed for "silver:/ccitriad/sw/patch/pax".

You need to run swreg on the depot.

swreg -l


Not sure about the -l part. I know I fixed this problem with swreg.

It turned out to be server name resolution problem. Once I solved that problem, the swcopy succeeded. Thank you for your reply.

Try restarting swagnet if it's not fixed by swreg -l command

to restart agent:
/sbini/init.d/swagentd stop and swagentd start

Move your present folder
/var/adm/sw/security to the
/var/adm/sw/security.old
and then now copy the folder security.old to
security.
(In /var/adm/sw
mv security security.old
cp -R security.old security )
i.e
Here all the contents and files of 'security' folder are owned by 'bin' and 'bin', now after recreating this new security all files will be now under 'root' and 'sys'.
