swinstall dependencies check error
I'm trying to install the product in attachment INDEX file.
The 'Platform7,r=C.08.27.00025' is already installed.
Then install the following products.
1. install A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.04.10.00000
2. install test.test C.04.11.00003
3. install test.test1 C.04.11.00003
4. install A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.05.00.00009
After installation finished, I try to remove A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.05.00.00009. But it reports error!
The fileset "test.test1,l=/opt/test_C.04.11,r=C.04.11.00003"
requires the selected fileset
"A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN,l=/opt/a7gsc_C.05.00,r=C.05.00.00009" as
a prerequisite.
ERROR: The dependencies for fileset
"A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN,l=/opt/a7gsc_C.05.00,r=C.05.00.00009"
cannot be resolved (see previous lines).
You must resolve the above dependencies before operating on
this fileset or change the "enforce_dependencies" option to
"false".
You can see from INDEX file in attachment that test.test1 depend on A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN,r>=C.04.00, while A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.04.10.00000 is installed, I just remove A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.05.00.00009.
I have tried on HPUX 11.23 0712, it works well, A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.05.00.00009 can be removed.
I have tried to install latest SD patch PHCO_35587 on HPUX 11.11, it still report error, and A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.05.00.00009 can not be removed.
If I remove 'prerequisites Platform7.P7-MIN,r>=C.08.11.*' in INDEX file, it works well.
Or if I update to 'prerequisites Platform7.P7-MIN,r>=C.08.25.*', it works well too.
Could you please help check? thanks so much.

Re: swinstall dependencies check error
If you install A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.04.10.00000 then A7GSC.A7GSC-SVR-RUN C.05.00.00009, then C.04.10.00000 is gone and you should not be able to remove C.05.00.00009 if test and test1 depend on it or C.04.10.00000.
One strange thing is why were these packaged with prerequisite instead of corequisite? (Not that this will fix your problem.)

Re: swinstall dependencies check error
In attachment, I post INDEX file, which include the package info about A7GSC.
A7GSC is set to different DIR for version C.04.10 and C.05.00.
revision C.04.10.00000
directory /opt/a7gsc_04.10
revision C.05.00.00009
directory /opt/a7gsc_C.05.00
So that multiple version can exist both. Therefore C.04.10.00000 will not be gone.
While C.04.10.00000 exists, why C.05.00 can not be removed?
prerequisite is used here because I prefer A7GSC is installed before test product.

Re: swinstall dependencies check error
That shouldn't matter. Unless you install with -x allow_multiple_versions=true.

That's not what that entirely means. It means that it must installed and configured first. If this isn't really needed (both can be done at the same time), you shouldn't specify it.

Re: swinstall dependencies check error
I have installed both C.05.00 and C.04.10 with '-x allow_multiple_versions=true'.
And my question is why C.05.00 can not be removed, while C.04.10 installed?
For the same scenario, C.05.00 can be removed on HPUX 11.23 0712 OS, but failed on HPUX 11.11 OS, though I have installed the latest SD patch PHCO_35587.
So why?

Re: swinstall dependencies check error
This may be a new feature on 11.23 that isn't patchable for 11.11.
