Re: swinstall failed disk space -> but there is enough
Did you check the log to see which file system it thinks there is a problem with? What did it say?

Re: swinstall failed disk space -> but there is enough
cleanup -c 1
It will commit all patches superseded more than once. Saves lots of space.

Re: swinstall failed disk space -> but there is enough
I would try a few things.
First make sure you have no extra swinstall processes running... that can sometimes mess up the swinstall process.
Second, I would check your /var/adm/sa/* files. If you must I would mv these files to /tmp and then do the swinstall and move them back...
Third, what I have done for MWA is to move the /var/opt/perf/datafiles to it's own filesystem Which cleared up about 1gb on my Superdome...(I keep data for a while on it since it is a new box)
Doing these things will surely clear up space for you...
Also, I try to have double the space required, b/c sometimes it may use temp space in /var while it is swinstalling the patches.

Re: swinstall failed disk space -> but there is enough
First check in the logfile for which filesystem error is coming. Then once again make sure that particular filesystem has enough space.
Still problem, restart swagent and try it out. I strongly doubt you are calculating on a wrong filesystem or wrongly calculated for a right filesystem.
Could you please give that log as well.
TIA

You think we can't do / haven't done stupid-er
mistakes than that. That's some ego you have
