swinstall information

Gd Day,

By running swinstall, if a subproduct/fileset is already being installed, then it will not appear in the subproduct/fileset listing available for installation? Am I correct?

Re: swinstall information

By default, it will not be installed.

as stated in man page as,

If a software_selection of the same revision is
already installed, swinstall will not reinstall it. If a
software_selection has a lower revision than the same software
which is already installed, swinstall will not reinstall it.
(The user can override these behaviors with control options.)

Easy to suggest when don't know about the problem!

Re: swinstall information

They will appear in the list, and they will be in the analysis output phase as having already been installed. You can use the options to reinstall patches should you wish. Be default swinstall does not reinstall patches already loaded.

Re: swinstall information

Guys,

Understand that by providing the patch id eg.PHSS_30011 from ITRC>>standard patch bundles - find patch bundles, we are able to retreive the required patch bundles.

In the above patch id PHSS_30011, it resulted in 2 patch bundles, namely GOLDAPPS11i and GOLDBASE11i.

Either patch bundles can be installed in order to have patch PHSS_30011 applied?

I performed ITRC>>Find individual patches. For a new version of a patch, the new patch_id will be reflected under â Most Recentâ column of the search result. Am I right?

thanks n regards
