swinstall of B5161EA/FA

Hi, having problem installing the package B5161EA. For med it looks like it is free software, but I can't get swinstall to install it. When listing the application cd with swlist -s /cdrom it says:

B5161EA A.11.13 ServiceGuard OPS Edition Bundle

But when installing: swinstall -s /cdrom/B5161EA B5161EA It says: ERROR: There is currently no depot software on host "od2gen" at
location "/cdrom/B5161FA". Make sure that an absolute pathname
is specified for location (beginning with "/").
* Source connection failed for "od2gen:/cdrom/B5161FA".

I do not understand why it cant install it when it is possible to list it.

Sorry about the misspelling ''EF'' / ''FA'' - but have tried both packagedes.

Hi Espen,

You could try this example:

# swinstall -s /cdrom/B5161FA -x ask=true \*

Failing that you can run 'swinstall' interactively. I prefer this method, as you have total control over the whole installation of the software.

# swinstall

Re: swinstall of B5161EA/FA

Hi

Are you sure this is a free software, this seems strange to me. I searched HP for the B5161EA product number but find nothing and in the information about the "ServiceGuard OPS" I could not find any product number. But I dont think this is a freware.

Hi,

The product in question is "ServiceGuard OPS Ed. LTU for HP-UX" Some information on it can be found here:

Hi

This is NOT a free software, I think you need a codeword to install it.

Re: swinstall of B5161EA/FA

Running the interactive version of 'swinstall' will allow you to:

Make sure that the software can be seen. If it requires a 'codeword' then you will have the opportunity from the 'Actions' pull-down menu in which to add the codeword should you need to. It also allows you to see everything that is going, logs, filesystem usage and error messages.

The link page I posted earlier does give an indictative costing on the product.
