swremove -d '*' @ /mydepot or swremove -d \* @ /mydepot


How is different when I run two this command?

- "swremove -d '*' @ /mydepot"

- "swremove -d \* @ /mydepot"

Please, help to me clarify.

They are exactly the same. They just use different shell quoting styles: \ "" or ''
Either can be used.

You could also use "set -f" and "set +f" to turn off/on shell filename generation.
