Re: swverify error for PHCO_27408.LVM-RUN

Hi:

This patch has warnings noted. The patch text notes that it is for LVM support of the VA7110 and VA7410 disk arrays.

I suggest you read the patch text. If you don't have these type of disk arrays, I would certainly skip installation of this patch, or remove it if already installed. *Read* the patch notes carefully in all cases.

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHCO_27408&context=hpux:800:11:11

As a general guide, I prefer to preview the contents of any SupportPlus bundle by going to Maintenance and Support -> Patching [Standard Patch Bundles] -> View Support Plus Releases. Select the bundle(s) you are going to install, and examine the contents for last-minute warnings or "recalls". You can then skip installation and/or choose a superceding patch as applicable.

For the patch in question, in the HWEnable11i
(SP-0212) bundle a "warning" is noted, directing you to the patch text for more information.

Regards!

Re: swverify error for PHCO_27408.LVM-RUN

Looks like you or someone forced installtion of a patch that wasn't needed on your system.

Or.

The install didn't complete.

I would do the following:

1) Exactly what JRF said.
2) Read the swagent.log file and look for more information.
3) swremove the patch. Even if it is supposed to be installed, you can't leave it in there like that.
4) If your research shows it should be installed, install it stand alone like this:

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s PHCO_27408.depot \*

Re: swverify error for PHCO_27408.LVM-RUN

After doing a swremove for PHCO_27408, no errors are listed in the swverify \*.

there is no need of that patch since i do not have a va array. i do have a XP48 direct attached.

i am still searching for the warnings about FCMassStorage.

Could you'll put in the right direction wrt to the foll. warnings

Re: swverify error for PHCO_27408.LVM-RUN

Sounds like you have issues with the Mass Storage devices and or drivers.

Does the FCMS card show up on an ioscan?

If its installed and doesn't come up, you might have a bad card.

If it does come up claimed then the next step I would take would be swremoving those drivers and swinstalling them again.

I'd be cautious though, this will require a system boot and this system seems quite unhappy right now.

Lastly, I'd go through the practical eyeball step if possible and make sure the link lights on the Fiber card are the way they are supposed to be. Also check the Fabric switch lights are correct if possible.

Does this means that i have some old driver for old card and the new driver is fine with the new card.
