						Hi,
I'm trying to install Sybase 12.5 on box that is running B11.11 (9000/800). But when Sybase trys to create the database server, i get the below error:
Building Adaptive Server 'austria':
Writing entry into directory services... Directory services entry complete.
Building master device... Task failed
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symbol: __head (data) from /usr/lib/libC.2
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved module for symbol: __shlinit (code) from
/usr/lib/libCsup.2
Server 'austria' was not created.
Done
I've looked around on the web and a few people say that if you've installed PHSS_22543 you'll get the above error, but i dont have that patch .
Any ideas since im new to HP-UX and am abit stuck.
Regards,
Gareth.

If you get an unsat with __head, it means you have illegally added -lC to use the obsolete cfront runtime. Remove it.
PHSS_22543 has been replaced by PHSS_33943.

I'm only going by memory. If you have a link line or make file that has -lC, remove it.
But probably the correct thing to do is to talk to Sybase and get them to fix it.
