syncsortd -- should it run as root?

We're using the syncsort product on HP-UX.
Does it need to be run as root?

Shalom alzhy,

I did tests with this product a few years back. Didn't buy it because the payoff was not that great versus the cost.

Memory is fuzzy, but I don't think we ran it as root.

Part of the setup required root access though.
