SolutionI'm not even sure what OS you are using here except based on where you posted.
uname -a
What application is messing up?
What is the purpose of this server?
Is there a loss of user functionality?

u should mention all the things first
use uname -a option to see o/s version and other things what steve posted.
then only we can tell u what is the exact meaning of u syslog output
