Syslog Message - HPUX 11.11
Hi,
I have a MC/Service Guard cluster with 2 HPUX 11.11 servers. The applications in cluster are OVOU (version 8.10) and NNM (version 7.5).
Every day at the same time, i have this kind of messagge in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file:
:/nsr/res/nsrdb save: RAP error: system error
:index save: RAP error: system error
:bootstrap save: RAP error: system error
and
:/nsr/res/nsrdb save: RAP error: Unable to grant UNIX CLUSTER CLIENT license: too many clients.Maximum is 0
:index save: RAP error: Unable to grant UNIX CLUSTER CLIENT license: too many clients.Maximum is 0
:bootstrap save: RAP error: Unable to grant UNIX CLUSTER CLIENT license: too many clients.Maximum is 0
and also
:bootstrap printing bootstrap information failed
:bootstrap /usr/bin/lp:failed to cleanup files
Does anyone have suggestion about this kind of message?
Thanks A Lot,
Fabrizio

Re: Syslog Message - HPUX 11.11
Okay .. I dug around a bit and found an old HP case where this was caused by having a RAID controller on a shared bus that is not supported on a shared bus.
Do you have any of the following controller types on the bus:
RAID Controller Cards for SCSI are not supported for use in shared SCSI buses.
This includes the A7143A, A9890A, A9891A and A5658A (also known as the RAID
4si).
Check ioscan ... if so, that is likely the source of your problem.
