sysmem very high hpux 11.11

Hi Guys ,
I am getting very high utilisation for system memory of my rp3440 Server with hpux 11.11. It's consuming 1 GB out of 3 GB. Please help me to trace this problem. I attached a File with kernelparmeters and a glance output.

Hi Peter,

Is the load on the machine too high, or is it that the memory consumption is normally low and now suddenly its consuming too much?? In that case you need to check out the top output and see if any process has gone into loop consuming too much of memory. If the load on the machine is less, and also if the response of machine is quite normal, I don't think its a matter to worry about.

This is the first hpux 11.xx server that we

Hi,

if I recall correctly the definition of "system memory" is somewhat changed in glance between 10.x and 11.x, hence the increase in system memory.

Next you have dbc_max_pct set to 10, so 300MB is already consumed by the buffer cache.
Your memory consumption does not look abnormal.

Hi Peter,

Do you have glance installed on this.

from glance plus you can find out the processes.
from #gpm you can get graphs also. You can run #gpm from your windows pc where an Xwindows client ( ie: Exeed, Xterm ) is installed.
