System doesn't boot from recovery CD

I tried to restart system from CD since last startup was failed.
Now I'm getting the next message:
#chroot /ROOT /sbin/sh
/sbin/sh: not found

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Re: System doesn't boot from recovery CD

Hello Alexander.

Maybe your CD is bad, try another CD or you could try to recover from an ignite backup.

1. What is the problem with the server ?
2. how are you trying to boot from the CD ?

Re: System doesn't boot from recovery CD

I don't think I use bad CD.
ll command in /sbin/sh after booting from CD returns corrects results - several sys commands.
The only problem for me is that my real "/" partition doesn't mount to /ROOT, only real "/stand" catalog.

Re: System doesn't boot from recovery CD

Also what HPUX os version are you running

from what I can understand /sbin/sh is nowere to be found.

Alexander when the system boots up, the only filesystem available for use is / (root)where /sbin resides on.

somewhere along the thread are the steps this person used to recover her system, and compare them to what you did
