Re: System Handle

If by System Handle, you mean what HP support ask you for before they will let you log a call, then no - this is a support ID handle that you will have to get off your support contract.

If you just mean the 'name' of the system then 'hostname' will tell you.

Re: System Handle

Your system handle is typically your system name: 'hostname' or 'uname -a', but if you are looking for what HP considers your system handle, then it really depends on what your service contract says.

Re: System Handle

Hi,

This is a number that you should be able to find in you support contract.

You can find your serial number with a command. You must have installed the diasgnostics to get it. a simple command is print_manifest.

Hope this helps,

You cannot get your system handle from the system but you can create a file that contains your system handle and then make a script command that will read that file. This way now you have the system handle recorded on the machine.

Re: System Handle

HI
System Handle is the number/name associated with the support contract with HP for each machine.
If you have predctive support software installed, configured and running on your system, run psconfig command and in reports you will be able to see this system handle, else you will have to get it from you HP support personal.

Thanks.
Prashant.
Take it as it comes.

Re: System Handle

The information is right at your fingertips. Click on "IT resource center" to the left of this screen. Click on "submit a software call" below the "Software Call Manager" heading. If your system handles are linked correctly, you will be presented with a list of handle for which you have a support contract for.
