System Idle 0%

Hi

System is showing almost 0% idle, when I check top command one process 'dmisp' which is utilizing too much of system resources. Please check out of findings.

Please I need help to come out of this problem

HPSIM on HPUX seems to go runaway at times.
Stop/restart the processes.

/sbin/init.d/dmisp stop
/sbin/init.d/dmisp start

should take care of your problem

Hi

I still did not stop/start dmisp. Now I am getting error massage while running fbackup

'May 31 02:41:52 cmshoa vmunix: msgcnt 3472 vxfs: mesg 016: vx_ilisterr - /EMCBCV file system error reading inode 131'

Any slution for this massage.

If you have not explicitly setup HP's System Inventory Manager, you should stop the dmisp process using the start/stop script as mentioned before. dmisp can runaway and consume a lot of CPU time when your system is not well patched or the SIM system has not been configured.

The error with fbackup means that there is a problem with the filesystem mentioned. Use fsck to fix the problem. Note that if you see any disk hardware errors when running fsck, you have a bad disk.
