Re: tachyon hba can't see array

How are you connected the the Array? Are you going through a switch? What kind of array is it?

In the past when I've had trouble seeing my storage, it was usually because the zoning on a switch wasn't setup correctly.

Re: tachyon hba can't see array

As John indicated, most likely reason is zoning. If you have replaced an hba lately, someone might have forgotten to update the wwn on the switch or even on the array depending on what you are using.

Re: tachyon hba can't see array

Werg,

1. Do an "ioscan -kfnC fc" to see your tachyon instances

2. For each instance do:

tdutil /dev/tdN

3. Give the results to your "SAN Master"

OR if you are your SAN master,

Register/zone the HBA's WWID on your SAN Switch / Array...

Re: tachyon hba can't see array

Usually this is a zoning/masking issue.

What king of array? EMC?

ioscan -fnC disk

If EMC, install the ECC software on server, then do a symcfg discover, then a syminq.

insf -e

I've been informed that there is no switch involved.

Re: tachyon hba can't see array

For us to assist further we need to know what your fibre channel is attached to. Even if it is directly attached, disks (LUNS) may still have to be presented to the server. This is generally done with some form of management software.
