Shalom siva,

Is it connected to a device the npars can share? I thought npar's were hard partitions and devices can't be shard by two npars.

ioscan -fnC tape both npars.

Have you put stape into the kernel on the HP-UX installations in the npars

To have 2 nPars means, you have 2 "independend" systems in one box. SCSI connected devices are not shared between the two systems.

Sorry, I don't understand your second post.

Hope this helps!

Please read the introduction to nPars first

http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5991-1247/index.html

and the introduction to vPars too

http://docs.hp.com/en/T1335-90018/index.html

This gives you a very good overview how vPars are working in a nPar environment.

To create a vPar it takes some longer than a couple of minutes if you are doing this the first time, because you have to thing about a proper layout.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
