Tape drive error
I am taking ignite backup of HPUX 11.23 itanium based server but it is giving the following error:
* Checking Versions of Ignite-UX filesets
ERROR: Failed to open tape device /dev/rmt/4mn:Permission denied (errno =
13).
ERROR: Check tape device failed.
======= 02/02/09 14:08:52 EST make_tape_recovery completed unsuccessfully
Can some one give me some clue please?

Can you please post the output of:
#ioscan -fnC tape
That's where I would first look.
What model of system/tape drive is it?

Hello,
Simple answer. You are using wrong tape device
in Ignite backups.
There is no /dev/rmt/4mn. Your tape drive
is /dev/rmt/0mn.
Use make_tape_recovery with correct option
to point to the right tape drive.
