Tape drive transfer measure

Hi

How to measure transfer to tape drive attached to server through fibre channel card ? Is there a tool similar to iostat ?

The old school way.

Take a 1 GB file.

date
tar cvf /dev/rmt/0m filename
date

1 GB divided by elapsed time.

Some of the commercial tape backup programs display throughput during or at end of job.

I've checked those tools. But I'm looking for something else. I want to do on-line measurement and plot on graph fibre channel card utilization.
