tcp-wrappers under 11.00
I have installed tcp_wrappers for HP-UX 11.00. The only depot that I could find lacks some features that would come in rather nicely, like enhanced logging.
I decided to replace the original binaries with tcpd just like you describe in your webinfo. I stuffed the original binaries into /usr/lbin/wrapper/.
It does not work. I don't get any log entries either. Of course I cannot use /etc/tcpd.conf since this version of tcp_wrappers doesn't know about a config file.
I am wondering if the tcpd binary which is called instead of ftpd knows to pass the call on to /usr/lbin/wrapper/ftpd.
Maybe i shoudl stick to the other method of just modyfieng the /etc/inetd.conf file.
I would appreciate any hint or suggestion.
Thanks in advance.

Re: tcp-wrappers under 11.00
Shalom,
The real problem is that your OS isn't going to be supported much longer. There are more full featured versions of tcp wrappers for newer versions of the OS.
I'm sure there are good reasons for avoiding a new OS. This is one of the reasons to consider the upgrade if tcp wrappers is important to you.
If you must use 11.00 I'd advise remaining on a depot based version of tcp wrappers and using inetd as you are doing.
