tcpip tuning for hp apche 2.0.55.03
Hi,
We are planning to install hp apache 2.0.55.03 on pa-risc hpux 11.11i.
We would be using this for a soap based web application with weblogic9.1 on hpux.
Can anyone suggest tcpip parameters which should be tuned as best practices for hp apache 2.0.55.03 ?
Thanks,
Shiv

Re: tcpip tuning for hp apche 2.0.55.03
HI shivkumar,
Q: What kernel and network parameters should I use for high loads?
The following is a guide to setting parameters on HP-UX 11.0 and later systems. A specific system may vary from these guidelines. See your HP sales representative for HP Consulting options.
kernel parameters STRMSGSZ 65535
dnlc_hash_locks 512
create_fastlinks 1
dbc_max_pct 15
dbc_min_pct 15

network parameters tcp_time_wait_interval 60000

tcp_rexmit_interval_max 60000
tcp_rexmit_interval_min 500
tcp_xmit_hiwater_def 32768
tcp_recv_hiwater_def 32768
The "ndd" command is used for network tuning.
To check the current setting of the system listen queue:
ndd -get /dev/tcp tcp_conn_request_max
For example to adjust the system listen queue size to 256:
ndd -set /dev/tcp tcp_conn_request_max 256
