Try "insf -e".

Re: Telnet device drivers missing

I try it, but not resolve the problems. Also remove the /dev/pty/t* and /dev/pts/* and recreate the device files but not resolve problem

Re: Telnet device drivers missing

Have you recently changed your instance numbers for scsi devices? Procedures involving /etc/ioinit can cause this problem.

If its kernel related, this thread might help:

If the drivers got wiped out because if /etc/ioinit work, this thread WILL fix it.

Re: Telnet device drivers missing

What is the exact error message??

What are your settings for npty, nptys, nstrpty and nstrtel kernel values?? Also how exactly you are trying to connect?? Are you trying to telnet/ssh/CDE logins??

Re: Telnet device drivers missing

Try this :

1. rmsf /dev/pts/t*
insf -v -d tels

2. For the "telm"-device:

rmsf /dev/telnetm
insf -v -d telm

Good Luck..

Re: Telnet device drivers missing

I had this problem before. To fix it, run the following commands:

rm /dev/pts/*
rm /dev/pty/*
cd /dev
insf -e
insf -d telm
insf -d tels

Re: Telnet device drivers missing

Can you provide the screen output what exactly is happening when you do telnet?

You can check for npty and nstrpty kernel values? Increase them if they are real low, this may cause for less number of connections?
Post your output if possible.

Re: Telnet device drivers missing

yes also check of nstrtel..you will have to rebuild the kernel, so note down the steps you will execute then. Hope it helps
