Re: Telnet not connect to Server

Hi Mario,

There is a good chance that the system is hung. Can you access the server through console?. If it is hanging there too, then you will have to hard reboot the box and see if there is any problem with the system disks. Most of the hangs are due to failure of the root disks. Toc'ing the box will produce the dump which can be analyzed by HP to assess the problem.

If you could get in through console, then there may be a network issue between your system and the server.

HI Mario
Try pinging to the server and check for any packet loss.If some loass is there then it may be the network problem

Re: Telnet not connect to Server

Try it again. When you get the above message, enter ] and you will get a telnet prompt which will allow you to interact with the telnet daemon. Enter the "status" command. This will tell you if you are still connected or not. If not, then you are getting dropped prior to the login banner being displayed, and you have either a faulty network card in either system, or are being dropped by a router between the two systems.

If status reports you are still connected, enter "toggle debug" to go into debug mode. Then enter "toggle netdata" (you may need to control-] to get back to the telnet prompt to do this). The netdata display will show you, in hex, all the traffic going back and forth. This will allow you to see all traffic back from the system, even if it's not printable.
