telnetd: /dev/pts/tb... No such file or directory
Yesterday we were getting telnetd: /dev/pts/tc No such file or directory error and we recovered this file successfully from tape backup and after that everything was fine
Now we are getting telnetd:/dev/pts/tb No such file or directory. we did the same thing, recovered this file and after everything is fine.
My question:
Can anybody let me know what is going in our system. During this time we were unable to get the telnet session and after restoring /dev/pts/tb.... everything is fine.
Can anybody let us know the problem and solution of this.
Thx,
My question

Re: telnetd: /dev/pts/tb... No such file or directory
Hello,
How many concurrent users do you have?
What is the version of your HP-UX server?
It is unusual that the devices just disappear
unless someone played with root privileges,
or you are missing some patches for your
release.
To recover, did you run:
# insf -v -e -s
Check insf(1M).
Cheers,
VK2COT
