Terminal console freezing

Hello everyone,
I had a problem on an HP terminal yesterday while checking log file:
the system console frozed completly. I tried to turn off then turn on while holding Ctrl+D,
then i killed all processes related to the console, i even replaced the console and the cables, i run insf -e, but nothing changed.
Does anyone have any idea OTHER than rebooting the system?
Thanks for help.

Re: Terminal console freezing

Hi

Ctrl+D will bring Console to factory default settings. Check baud rate, XON/XOFF, remote enabled setting.

Re: Terminal console freezing

Hi,
maybe your GSP (o MP) is hanged, so try to reset it whith a XD (a GSP command)
It doesn't reboot your sytem!

Re: Terminal console freezing

Assuming you are connected to a system with a GSP, you could always press the GSP reset button. Don't press the TOC button as this will reset your system!

Re: Terminal console freezing

what kind of hardware you are using? I agree, it could be an GSP issue - if you have one ;-)

to test it, type

stty +queryGSP
if there is no functionality, try to reset the GSP:

stty +resetGSP

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
