*** Termination signal 138 ???
I'm getting "*** Termination signal 138" error during compilation. What des it mean? I'm using HP-UX 11.0, error is intermittent.

It means a process aborted with a bus error. Don't you get any other messages along with the "*** Termination signal 138"?
Given that it happens intermittently, it is likely to be caused by running out of swap space. That would be variable due to how much swap other processes are using at the time. You could try adding more swap space.
