Test Depot file

I have just donloaded a big depot file, but I am not sure he is donloaded completly, I have just tested: swlist -d @ /.... and it work. How can I do to test it to be sure it was not tunked?

I believe that the HP site gives checksums for these downloads. You could do a cksum and verify it against the web or ftp site. The checksum is usually in the readme as well).

try to install it, if any problem related to installable file (like check sum) download again
never give up

Hi,

swlist will only use the catalog directory of your depot, so it only means that this catalog is present. You could first try a 'tar tvf depot' to see if it can read the file up to the end or even better, swcopy your depot file to an expanded depot directory (no risk to corrupt your system).
