The easy way to correct these issues?

Working on an old box (to be used for development). Unmounted old physical drives, removed them from lvm and vg, and physically removed from system. Cannot add new drive due to errors shown below (this is the output from vgscan). What is the easy way to tell the OS that these drives really are not there? I currently have ONE drive active - with root on it.

The Volume Group /dev/vg01 was not matched with any Physical Volumes.

Also if you have any backup file of lvmtab in /etc directory, move it to /tmp.
