Re: the messages from my console!

Somewhere on your network you have two systems configured to use the same ip address, namely 133.202.5.1, and the card using this address has the MAC address of 0x0040054BB487

You need to find this piece of equipment and chnage one of the ip address that are in conflict

Re: the messages from my console!

Hi,

problem sounds like two lan cards with the same IP address on the same subnet.
You can try by nslookup to search what system is recognized with that IP address.
Also, you could

# ping
# arp -a

and you should search other MAC address associated to that IP address.
I have just suggested any things in order to discover what system has the same IP address, anyway problem should be two system with the same IP address.
In any case latest LAN patches installed should be advisable.

I hope this helps you.

Best regards,
Ettore

Re: the messages from my console!

It is possible to configure mac address on your lan card to be differnt than it factory default.

You migh have accidently programmed you mac address on to you backup machine

Look at all of your HP machince
cd /etc/rc.config.d
grep -i b487 * (the last 4 digit of address in you message)

If you have any matches that probably is the problem. Especially if you were trying to sync up rc.config.d files.

On my development My lan0 address is as follows
root:dev# grep -i e0 *
$hpetherconf:HP_ETHER_STATION_ADDRESS[0]=0x080009D289E0

If I had an Identical configuration copying the hpetherconf file to another box. I would have duplicate mac address. If your boxes have multple lan cards for failover, you might have only to disable the backup lancard.

good luck
Rory

Re: the messages from my console!

in the file "hpetherconf "
no MAC address appears

and in 133.202.5.0
there is no host who is configured with 133.202.5.1 except host "hpd270"
and in my subnet there is two hpd270 who are in MC ,and all other are SCO unix and windows 3.x
