1) Never. We use room UPS.
2) lvcreate/extend, extendfs, mirroring, create filesystems.
3) Command line almost exclusively. (The senior admin
has opinions) SAM is actually diabled on most boxes. Main
advantage is flexibility.
4) Speed is an issue, also many more options available from command line.
5) Don't have any.
