Whether or not you are "not supposed to modify the .login file", I believe I'd simply remove the line(s) in .login that modify PATH and make sure it's set correctly in .cshrc.

I don't know anything about .corprc although I presume it's used by your application and that you should make any application related environmental changes in it. Perhaps that's where you should have your setenv PATH and setenv CLEARCASE_BLD_UMASK commands.
