the system refuse to give $ prompt
Hi Gurus,
When I login a NIS client with normal user name, it prompt like bellow:
restrictions as set forth in sub-paragraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in
Technical Data and Computer Software clause in DFARS 252.227-7013.
Hewlett-Packard Company
3000 Hanover Street
Palo Alto, CA 94304 U.S.A.
Rights for non-DOD U.S. Government Departments and Agencies are as set
forth in FAR 52.227-19(c)(1,2).
/usr/bin/X11/xset: unable to open display ""
standardprofile
TERM=vt100 EDITOR=vi UNAME=ownhostname DISPLAY=
Number of Shell Variables Set: 53
-----------SUSPENDING---------------
and the prompt $ was not given. But other clients are OK. I can do a normal login with root accout both derectly or via LAN. So how to crack the nut?
Thanks in advance!

Re: the system refuse to give $ prompt
Team,
I cracked it! And the cause is that someone changed the profile and the system missed to souce the /etc/profie.
It's now OK.
