Time in Ignite-UX configuration tool window is 4 hours off

HP-UX 10.20 on series 700.

After building an Ignite image with Ignite-UX A.2.5.136 from a machine whose time is set to GMT, I attempt to use the boot media on a different machine that also is set to GMT. But, when the new machine boots from the media, the configuration tool with the Basic, Software, System, etc tabs has the time zone as GMT (or UTC, same thing) yet the time is initially 4 hours off, i.e. EST.

As the machine boots from the media, I noticed a time displayed in EST and this is before the configuration tool windows come up. I am guessing at that point of the
install or boot that the system is running from "mini
root".

Any ideas why the 4 hours discrepancy? Any ideas which files may be involved?

Thanks,

Boyd

Hi Boyd,

Have you checked the timezone setting in the install setup screen.

Can't think of anything else.

thanks

Checked the timezone in the setup of screen under
the System tab and it's UTC (or GMT).

After a few more tries, it seems that before the configuration (set up) screens displays, the console
displays messages about initializing or starting up the
Ignite-UX session. This is where the EST (actually, it's
EDT) time displays. It's does not seem to be the mini
root since that would not use until after starting the
loading of the image archive which is after the set up
screens.

There must be some file in Ignite-UX that is telling the
session to display EST/EDT time. As the archive is loaded
on the target machine, the time stamps displayed are
EST/EDT eventhough we must sure that the set up
screens have GMT/UTC time set.
