Can (and should) I use this Windows 2000 server as my time source or should I punch through the firewall on port 123 to get an outside time source?
The application is a simple Warehouse Management System. Accuracy to 1 second is plenty good.

Like this:
http://www.quancom.de/quancom/quancom01.nsf/home_prod_eng.htm?OpenFrameSet&Frame=unten&src=http://www.quancom.de/qprod01/eng/pb/clock77_pci.htm
covers Europe, but I'll bet there are products/services for US as well.
Works even when your Internetprovider is down !
Just option 2

Re: Time synch to a Windows 2000 box
you can use your Win2k box as a timeserver if you install additional NTP Service. As far as i know there is no tool for HP-UX available which syncronizes with the SNTP service.
Check http://www.ntp.org and see for the available win2k software.
Hope this helps
Regards Stefan
