Time Zone

Hi

My machine is currently running with some sort of day light savings. Is there a way to disable this or could some body tell me what time zone I should have selected for South Africa. I'm currently running SADT.

Thanks
Stephen

Re: Time Zone

Hi Stephen

I also had quite a bit of trouble with this.

You should have under /etc/TIMEZONE
the following:

TZ=SAST-2
export TZ

Good luck

Re: Time Zone

Hi Stephen!

Remember the timezone variable you should modify the TZ variable in each of these HP-UX supplied files:

/etc/rc : for processes that are children of init, like cron
/etc/profile : for users of /bin/sh or /bin/ksh
/etc/csh.login : for users of /bin/csh
/etc/mkrs : for HP-UX recovery system

So, if users report that their time is incorrect after the change you can check any of the above files.

Re: Time Zone

Stephen,

I think you have to do:

vi /etc/TIMEZONE and in it put:

TZ=SAST-2
export TZ

Save it and re-boot your machine.

Hope it help.

Re: Time Zone

I would run 'set_parms timezone', it will prompt you for everything.
