timezone problem last Saturday night
Hi Forums,
i have 4 hp-ux 11i v1 systems.
my correct TZ is;
Mon Mar 28 09:35:40 EETDST 2005
baan01:/#cat /etc/TIMEZONE
TZ=EET-2EETDST
#TZ=GMT0BST
export TZ
Last year on last Sunday of October with these
settings my systems backwarded 1 hour automatically but last Saturday night it failed so i tried to arrange my system clock from SAM manually but this time my sys clock
became +2 then i used TZ=GMT0BST
then i was able to fix my system clock then
again use TZ=EET-2EETDST at this time my sys clock became +1 hour and again fix it form SAM...now they are all correct.
Finally,the Q is whay my systems failed last
Saturday night with my correct TZ???
Please reply,

Re: timezone problem last Saturday night
Check the file /usr/lib/tztab in your system.
The values about EET-2EETDS time zone in my box are:
# Finland Standard Time, Finland Daylight Time
#
# This entry has been changed to allow for a later ending of
# Daylight Savings Time from 1996 onwards.
# It now ends on the last Sunday of October.
#
EET-2EETDST
0 4 25-31 3 1981-2038 0 EETDST-3
0 3 24-30 9 1981-1995 0 EET-2
0 3 25-31 10 1996-2038 0 EET-2
The change to summer time is found in line:
0 4 25-31 3 1981-2038 0 EETDST-3
