Thanks.But as u mentioned in 2 option,by interupting the auto boot,is it will automatically go to EFI shell prompt???

And what is this fs0 for??or from EFI shell can i directly give the boot vmunix -is command???

from EFI SHELL> you can use boot vmunix -is

EFI:> boot vmunix -is

This will boot into single user mode.

- When you get at this stage , while rebooting
Interupt, and enter at HPUX> prompt, boot vmunix -is to go to single user mode.

Thanx Raj..So what i am getting is we can go to single user mode by two ways..one by intrupting autoboot and from EFi shell we can give boot vmunix -is...
And one more go to hp ux shell and give the command ..r88??

May I know how can I go to EFI shell..If I interupt the autobot is it will automatically go to EFI shell???

When you arrive at below screen after rebooting.
Attempting to boot using the primary path.
-------------------------------------------------------------
To discontinue, press any key within 10 seconds.

press any key and at next prompt below

Main Menu: Enter command or menu >
type here BOOT

Do you wish to stop at the ISL prompt prior to booting? (y/n) >> y

ISL> hpux -is boot /stand/vmunix

After the selftest you will see the boot entry menu and a running timer. Press a key (arrow down) to stop the timer. Select EFI Shell now.

Shell>

change directory to EFI/HPUX and you will find the hpux.efi system loader.

You dont need to go to EFI shell,
during the boot process, you will be promted to interupt the boot sequence it waits 10 sec.

-Look for "Press Any Key to interrupt Autoboot "
and you will get HPUX> prompt.


-at HPUX prompt, use type without the quote "boot vmunix -is "
