To check free local disk slots as well in free disk slots in XP array
Hi Friends,
I want to check the free available slOts in my L1000 server , I don't have the physical access to the server .How can i achieve it .
Attached is the ioscan o/p for ext_bus and disk .
The ext bus ( ext_bus 3 0/0/2/1 ) is not appering in ioscan -fknC disk o/p . So can it be confirmed that this SCSI interface is free and a disk can be attached .
Also by which command like ( xpinfo ) can i check the free avaibale slots in a xp disk array .Cn i check it from CLI or i have to do it by array manager software provided with XP array.

Re: To check free local disk slots as well in free disk slots in XP array
Hi Daniel,
You do not have any free slots in your server. L1000 use to have only 4 internal slots for HDDs and all four are allready occupied.
For XP you can find it from command view. xpinfo I don't think will provide physical disk information. Command view will provide detailed information. Which XP do you have XP 128, 512,1024 can accomodate 128,512,1024 disks respectively when fully populated.
HTH,
Devender

Re: To check free local disk slots as well in free disk slots in XP array
Hi
you cann't do this with xpinfo or raidscan or any other tool. You have to used raid450 utility incase of xp1024 . or suitable raid utility in your svp of xp . With that you can generate a file and Allconf.csv . In that the total number of initialised discs are listed .
in L1000 you can use
mstm or cstm to get the status of free slots in bay .
