To enable CD/RW in HP-UX machine

We have installed

pls help us how to enable CD/DVD writing in this machine

For DVD writing, install "HP-UX dvd+rw-tools", available for free from software.hp.com:

The "mkisofs" command from the above-mentioned package is probably good for creating CD-R/RW images too. I don't know whether the "growisofs" command of the dvd+rw-tools can be used for actually writing CDs or not.

The usual program for writing CDs would be "cdrecord", which used to be available in the TCOpenSource package of the HP-UX Internet Express (version 8 or earlier).

Unfortunately, version 9 of the Internet Express no longer contains the TCOpenSource package. The release notes say that the contents of the TCOpenSource package should be available in HP-UX Porting and Archive Centre:

but at the moment I cannot find "cdrecord" from there.

If you don't have any older versions of Internet Express available (check your installation media kit!), you might have to get the sources of cdrecord from the author:
