Re: To modify the driver of a printer with JET ADMIN

There is no driver for printers in HP-UX, only simple filter scripts. However, there is nothing in the scripts that will change the language (ie, take a PCL file and convert it to Postscript). Most HP printers that have the Postscript option will auto-sense the print job and process the text correctly. While you can override the language on the command line (lp -o postscript) why would you do this? See: man net_ljx000

Since the filter is a simple script, you can modify or replace it anytime when the printer is idle.
