ToolTalk traces not working

Hi,

I am trying to execute /usr/dt/bin/tttrace on my B2000 box running HP-UX B.11.00, without success. It exits with the following error:

"tttrace: session

does not support Session_Trace. Use kill -USR1 instead. See ttsession(1)."

Even when sending USR1 signal to the PID of ttsession, nothing happens.

It works perfectly under UX 10.20 though, and it defaults to the current session (ttsession) if nothing is specified on the tttrace command line.

Please help !

Rgds.

Re: ToolTalk traces not working

it's odd...
but do you have these patches installed:
PHKL_23183
PHSS_19887
PHKL_17019 - mostly man pages

good luck.

Re: ToolTalk traces not working

I beleive this has been identified as a problem and hopefully will be cured in the next CDE Patch : PHSS_22341 contained no mention of it.

Defect Id : JAGad34514

Re: ToolTalk traces not working

Pedro,

Thanks for the list of patches, but they did not help.

Alex,

What can I do with the defect ID you wrote ? Can I browse the defect contents somewhere ? Or should I call the HP hotline to declare my pb, with this DefectID as a reference ?

Thanks in advance

Re: ToolTalk traces not working

Brian,

The second point : use the JAGad ##### as your point of reference ..... I suspect it's most likely fixed either as part of a CDE patch or ttrace patch .... neither of the latest 11.xx patches refer to the defect or the JAG id so I'm assumming that although identified we don't have an official fix .... my information may well not be the latest & greatest and i cannot say too much on the forums so log a call with your local Response Center ?

Re: ToolTalk traces not working

JAGad34514 has not yet been released in any patch. It is scheduled for a future CDE patch. Note that you can search the patch texts for JAG numbers. The patches should indicate which defects are addressed in the patch.
