Re: Top is not reporting correctly avg (-0.00%)
Its strange to see minus sign there. i hope you are sure about.
But if you ignore minus sign then the values displayed are correct e.g. 0.06 is the first value displayed.
What term value you are using while executing top?
Don't know if it is relevent one.

Re: Top is not reporting correctly avg (-0.00%)
here is another sample:
ystem: hp05536 Mon Jun 21 11:57:46 2004
Load averages: 0.06, 0.09, 0.09
242 processes: 240 sleeping, 2 running
Cpu states:
CPU LOAD USER NICE SYS IDLE BLOCK SWAIT INTR SSYS
0 0.03 3.2% 0.0% 1.4% 95.4% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0%

2 0.01 2.4% 0.0% 0.8% 96.8% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0%
3 0.10 0.2% 0.0% 0.0% 99.8% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0%

The result of the avg-values are wrong and the minus sign can not be correctly.
Here is a result from another server on the SAME display:
system: hp07386 Mon Jun 21 12:00:07 2004
Load averages: 0.86, 0.78, 0.78
139 processes: 123 sleeping, 16 running

Re: Top is not reporting correctly avg (-0.00%)
you simply have to assign points to replies (on th right side of the post). See the link on how to assign points. i think manish deserves 10 points i.e. magical answer.
