Admins,

Anyone get a Toshiba 310 to
work with 11.0 or 11.i?

A Toshiba 310 what?

CD-ROM drive?

In general if you can't get HP-UX drivers from the manufacturer or HP it won't work with HP-UX.

My CD-ROM drives on my D and L class boxes are built by Toshiba. These are SCSI drives, not the IDE kind you get off the rack.

Hi Sank,

If you mean the Toshiba 310 Pocket PC, I think that will only occur when porkers commence to aviate.
One must have a PA-RISC processor to run HP-UX.

If it is indeed a CD or DVD SCSI drive you may get it to work reading disks, but I seriously believe you could not use it as a boot device.
HP is *very* picky about it boot devices & one almost always needs the devices to have HP firmware to properly boot.

This is a printer-copier that seems to print garbage when
configured with lpadmin to work with lpr

OK, then set it up as a remote printer - not a network printer. They (network) require JetDirect I/Fs to work properly.
You may need to set the printer to append CR to LF so that a LF results in LF/CR so that the print won't stair-step off the page.
Then it's up to the SW to use the proper printer type. I assume that this printer emulates the HP PCL control code set - as many of these copier/printers do.

Jeff,

NON-JEFF WORLD:This is A toshiba 310c multi-function printer/copier/P.O.S.

I am attempting to do this with lpadmin -qxxxx -hxxxx method but the printer which thinks XP is fine refuses to communicate with UNIX.
